The airline launched its newest ‘oasis of luxury’ for premium customers travelling out of the Terminal 3 at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The lounge is designed to be a welcoming haven for the airlines’ first and business class passengers as well as PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members. The airline has invested 20 million Singapore dollar in its premium lounges.
“We chose Delhi as it is one of our busiest markets in India, with two flights a day to Singapore… by offering customers an inviting space to relax in comfort, we hope to enhance their travel experience even before they board their flight,” said Tan Pee Teck, the airline’s senior vice president (product and services).
There is a selection of hot meals, light snacks and beverages for the customers as well as the latest entertainment systems. There is Internet access terminals located at the business centre with complimentary wireless broadband available throughout the 80-seater lounge.
The SIA has recently signed an agreement valued at about US$400 million with Panasonic Avionics for advanced in-flight entertainment and communications systems for more than 40 new aircraft on firm order with Airbus and Boeing.
“SIA has always been a leader in providing the best in-flight entertainment to our customers but we need to constantly innovate to stay ahead of the competition. The contract with Panasonic Avionics will help us do just that,” said Teck.
