Thank you for providing us with that information. You do require visa to travel to India if you hold British passport. If you are travelling for Leisure and Tourism purposes you are required to get the E tourist visa which can be done online and it is quick and easy. You can apply for a 30 days visa, 1 year visa or 5 years visa. The latter is perfect if you travel to India often.
