Virgin Atlantic have announced that they intend to increase services to Ghana from 11 December 2010 in time for the peak winter period.
Virgin Atlantic will increase the frequency of its flights to Ghana from UK during the winter peak period from three to four flights a week. From December 11 to January 9 there will be an additional Saturday night flight from London Heathrow which will arrive in Ghana on Sunday morning.
The carrier said that “Ghana has been amongst the most successful of route launches for the airline and is already proving to be a highly popular destination”, adding that it has seen “very high load factors” on the route, “breaking all our expectations”.
The extra flight will depart London Heathrow on Saturday evening at 2230, landing in Accra at 0520 the next day, with the return leg leaving at 0900 on Sunday December 12 (1030 on other dates) landing back in London at 1550 or 1720 respectively.
Virgin is plying the route with Airbus A340-300 aircraft, configured for 171 economy seats, 35 in premium economy, and 34 in Upper Class.
