Reasons to travel?

Hello, I want to travel to India in a couple of days, is it true I need to give a reason?

Hi Aishah, yes that is correct. As currently all international travel is not permitted, you must have a reasonable excuse for leaving to travel abroad.

What are these reasons?

Some of the valid reasons for international travel include: work, volunteering, education, medical or compassionate grounds, funerals, leaving the UK if you do not live in the UK, and have only been here temporarily, allowing access to parents with children who do not leave in the same country.

I am travelling because one of the family members is very ill. Is this an acceptable excuse?

Yes that can be an acceptable reason, you will have to fill in the declaration form provided on the UK Government's website.

What will they ask in this form?

Apart from declaring the reason you will be travelling for, you will be asked to complete your name, address and destination of travel.

Do I need any extra doc to travel?

Yes, a documentation from India is advisable in case you are asked to show any evidence to support your reason to travel at your port of departure, or at any stage of your journey whilst travelling to leave England. Additionally, you are required to submit your details on the Pass Track mobile app.
