E visa tourist

Hi I have already an e visa for India valid for 5 years and was looking to book a ticket for next couple of days. Is this will be sufficient to travel?

Hello Sharonjeet, currently only E Visa under the following categories business and medical have been restored with immediate effect from 30th March 2021 but only for few countries. UK is not yet a part of the list of whose nationals are eligible for E visa facility. Otherwise E Visa under tourist category is presently suspended for all. As per Indian Government's regulation only Indian passport holders, OCI cardholders or visa issued on emergency basis are permitted to travel.

So when will the e visa re open?

It is currently unclear if the Government of India will extend the validity of these visas so that they can still be used after the Coronavirus measures are lifted. If you require more information regarding this please contact the UK embassy.
