Pet included in baggage weight limit on Air India

Hi I am going with Air India and can I include my pet in the baggage weight limit allowed?

Hello Nimrit, pet animals can be carried as an accompanied baggage or shipped as cargo. You will have to make this request to Air India so you can complete the formalities required. Pets will be carried at an additional charge and will not be included in the free baggage allowance, even if the passenger has no other baggage. Weight of the pet plus container as also food carried per container will be charged.
