Hello Sukhwant, biometric card is a residence permit card that holds customer's biographic details like name, date and place of birth and biometric information such as photo and fingerprints. It also shows their immigration status and entitlements while they remain in the UK.

Okay and who can apply and how can you use it?

Foreign nationals from outside the European Economic Area can apply for a biometric residence permit card. It can be used to confirm a person's identity, right to work or study in the UK, right to any public services or benefits they are entitled to. Foreign nationals can get biometric residence permit card if they wish to come to the UK for longer than 6 months or to extend the visa for more than 6 months, apply to live in the UK or to apply for certain Home Office travel documents.
